After 72 miles in the saddle on day one, Hutton Cranswick Sports & Recreation Centre, the location of our halfway camp, is a welcome sight indeed.

But as well as a chance to rest weary legs and soothe a sore posterior, it’s also a real social highlight of the Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge. There’s plenty of time to eat, drink and relax at this halfway stopover; an opportunity to chat over the day’s riding with fellow participants.
An evening of festivities will kick off with live music and a hearty meal, all lubricated by a fully licensed bar. And, as day two begins, you’ll be able to fuel up with a filling breakfast to prepare for the second half of the challenge.

The Facilities

We ensure you keep your bike safe by providing a secure area, which is monitored by our residential security throughout the night. There’s also is a range of facilities including toilets, hot showers and a washroom, which are all onsite.

We will transport your tent or camping gear to the halfway camp and back so you don’t have to worry about packing too light or lugging your tent on your back as you tackle the hills of the Yorkshire Wolds.

Pre-erected tents, which sleep two people, are available for an additional £30 donation. A limited number are available for those who don’t have their own tent or don’t want to set theirs up after a long day in the saddle.
Book now by emailing: info@yorkshirewoldscyclechallenge.org.uk or call 07957 374787 for further details.

If camping isn’t for you, don’t worry. We encourage all entrants to stay with us at the overnight camp to get the full experience but alternative options are available, including bringing a campervan to the site or booking a room in a B&B nearby.
